V poslední době vzrůstá obliba postelí z dřevěného masivu, a není divu: skvěle se na nich leží, vydrží doslova navěky a navíc vypadají nádherně v každém interiéru. Ovšem není masiv jako masiv. Každý druh dřeva má své unikátní vlastnosti a před konečným rozhodnutím je dobré se v nich alespoň zběžně orientovat.
Dřeviny, které vám neudělají díru do kapsy
V naší republice jsou cenově nejdostupnějšími typy dřeva borovice a smrk. Tyto dřeviny hojně rostou i na našem území a severně od českých hranic. Nižší cena zde ovšem rozhodně není jediným lákadlem. Borovice vyniká svou výraznou, velmi propracovanou kresbou prokládanou suky. Postel z borovicového masivu tak může vaší ložnici dodat opravdu unikátní vzhled a působí skvěle v rustikálně laděném stylu. Mívá také pěkný odstín, který se navíc časem vybarvuje. Spáči si pochvalují i její pružnost. Smrkový masiv je zase houževnatý, pružný a velmi lehký, přesto však smrkové postele mají vynikající nosnost. Jeho zpracování je poměrně snadné, a tak u něj řemeslníci mohou dosáhnout dokonale hladkého vzhledu. Je ideální pro moření a další úpravy. U obou druhů masivu se ovšem jedná o měkká dřeva, jejich odolnost je tedy o něco menší než u tvrdších alternativ. Při neopatrném zacházení v nich mohou vznikat rýhy a další mechanická poškození.
Další hojně využívané dřeviny
Mezi dražší dřevěné masivy, které jsou však stále dostupné i “obyčejným smrtelníkům” a často se používají pro výrobu postelí a dalšího nábytku, patří dub, buk a bříza. Buk a dub jsou dřeviny, u nichž se musí počítat také s o něco vyšší váhou nábytku. Odměnou vám bude jejich velká odolnost a mimořádně dlouhá životnost. Uvidíte-li na zámcích dokonale dochované kusy nábytku ze středověku, pravděpodobně se jedná právě o bukové či dubové dřevo. Nejžádanějším materiálem pro výrobu kvalitních prostředí je u nás jednoznačně buk. Postel z bukového masivu lze opravdu dokonale opracovat a její konstrukční pevnost umožňuje výrobcům popustit u designu uzdu fantazii. Výsledkem jsou zajímavé linie, ozdobné reliéfy a nádherně vyvedená čela postele. Taková dřevěná postel vydrží opravdu všechno a skvěle v ní drží čepy, což zaručuje perfektní stabilitu. Méně časté jsou pak třešeň, bříza či olše. Do odstínů těchto dřevin se ale často moří jiná, obvyklejší dřeva.
Exotické dřeviny jsou luxusní záležitostí
V dnešní době platí, že sehnat lze prakticky cokoliv, proto si můžete vybavit domácnost i nábytkem ze dřevin, které v Evropě nerostou. Obrovskou popularitu si získala především africká dřeva – mahagon, paduka nebo černé dřevo wenge. Jejich pořízení sice není levné, zato však dodají vašemu bytu exotickou atmosféru. Mají také své praktické vlastnosti. Africké dřeviny bývají hydrofobní, takže jim nehrozí poškození vodou. Z dalších cizokrajných dřevin je oblíbený například kanadský javor.
