Žaluzie vertikální, které se posouvají doleva, doprava nebo na střed, okno se dá plně otevřít. Možná by bylo lepší si objednat žaluzie, jež se otevírají od okrajů okna do středu.
Šířka lamel ( lamely – svislý pruh tkaniny nebo umělé hmoty), šířka 127 nebo 89 mm. Čím větší je okno, tím širší lamely žaluzie jsou vhodnější. Samotná konstrukce žaluzií je velmi jednoduchá: římsy, vyrobeny z hliníku, posuvníků, latě nakládky v lamely (olovnice k napnutí tkaniny), spojovací řetěz a lano k ovládání žaluzií (šňůry).
Horizontální žaluzie – se používají na úřadech, perfektně se hodí do interiéru kancelářských prostor, účinná ochrana před sluncem. V závislosti na požadavcích zákazníka, horizontální žaluzie jsou instalovány v okenním otvoru, nebo mezi rámy (pouze u dřevěných oken!!). Šířka lamel u horizontální žaluzie může být 16 nebo 25 mm. Která z nich je výhodnější, je nutno se zaměřit na velikost okna s cílem udržet celkové proporce místnosti, stejně jako při výběru vertikálních žaluzií 89 nebo šíře 127 mm.
Konstrukční materiály pro žaluzie
Pro výrobu žaluzií se používají plasty, textilie, hliník, dřevo, rostlinné vlákna (přírodních materiálů – bambusu, len, juta). Každý z těchto materiálů má své vlastní charakteristiky, výhody a nevýhody. Plast se snadno čistí, je hygienický a nevyžaduje žádnou zvláštní péči. Lamely z kvalitního plastu dobře drží tvar. Ovšem při vyšší teplotě může docházet k deformaci lamel. Tkanina, která se používá pro lamela, je impregnovaná speciálním prostředkem proti prachu. Při jejich nákupu, je nutno věnovat pozornost hustotě tkáně – čím je tkáň hustší, tím déle zachovají původní vzhled, je vzdušná, nedeformuje se po čištění. Hliník – vynikající ochrana před slunečním zářením a zvědavýma očima. Hliníkové lamely se nepřehřívají, dokonale zatemní místnost, ochrana proti hluku a vniknutí cizí osoby.
