Většina kaktusů se poměrně snadno množí řízkováním. Takovéto rody jsou Echinopsis, Mammillaria a některé další dávají hodně takzvaných “dětí” – hotových řízků. Nicméně, mnoho typů kaktusů nejsou náchylné k tvorbě postranních výhonků, a proto jsou vzácnější. Cherenkuya kaktus, dostanete kořeny řezání a “pařez”, který tvořil “výhonky”, které v průběhu času lze použít jako řízky.

Nejlepší čas pro roubování je na jaře a počátkem léta. Pro roubování kaktusu je potřeba nabroušený skalpel nebo ostrý nůž. Řez poté okamžitě posypeme moučkovou sírou nebo dřevěným uhlím. Kaktus musí být suchý. Nejlepší zakořenění řízků kaktusu probíhá v nádobě s vlhkým pískem, pokrytým tenkou vrstvou štěrku. Místo oblázkové vrstvy, lze použít vyrobenou z plastové desky s otvory o různých průměrech, umístěte je v písku ve vzdálenosti 0,5 cm.
Nádoby s řízky umístěte do skleníku s umělým osvětlením
Pokud nemáte skleník, můžete je umístit na okno, ale ne na slunné místo. Písek se musí stále udržovat vlhký, proto je nutno provádět pravidelný postřik. Tímto způsobem jsou kořeny vytvořené během 1-2 týdnů, a o měsíc později řízky mohou být transplantovány do hlavního substrátu.

Pěstování kaktusů ze semen není tak pracné a časově náročné. Nejlepší doba pro výsadbu kaktusu je začátkem března. Chcete-li, připravte substrát, sestávající z listu pozemku (úplně shnilý), promyjte říčním pískem nebo jemně drceným dřevěným uhlím v poměru 1: 1: ½ a vložte do keramické misky či plastové nádoby. Semena kaktusů, ale ty menší, jako například z rodu parodie, je třeba namočit na jeden den v mírně růžovém roztoku manganistanu draselného. Užitečné pro tento úkon jsou Petriho misky, aby se rozložila semena různých druhů v různém místě. Každý typ může být zabalen do filtračního papíru a máčen v libovolné misce.
